[mb-users] Yaz/Yazoo - Anyone know the difference?

There's a few albums duplicated between the arist "Yaz" and "Yazoo".
However, I'm not confident that the artists should be merged, since it
looks like they're different artists (from www.allmusic.com's point of view).
Does anyone know "Yaz" or "Yazoo" well enough to clean this up?

I've not heard of Yaz.

I have heard of Yazz (and the plastic population), and of Yazoo, and they
are different. Yaz might be an abreviation of Yazoo in the album "the best
of Yaz", because the best of Yazz would surely contain the single "The only
way is up".

I don't know if the plastic population is part of Yazz' band name, or if it
is Yazz feat. The plastic population.

Yaz (not Yazz) and Yazoo are the same artist -- marketed as Yaz in the
US and Yazoo in the UK. My gut feeling is to name the artist Yazoo, and
add a Yaz alias for Yazoo, since the original/official/whatever name was
Yazoo.

This is another example of why most marketing people should be shot. :-)

Usually if a band has a different name in the US it's because some
(usually unknown) US artist is already using the name. In fact, I just did
a search and this was indeed the case for Yazoo/Yaz:

When was the last time we had a decade as bad musically (esp. for rock) as this one?
